RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT
Soon after the establishment of the first manufacturing unit in 1987 the company realised the need to put in place a dedicated R&D facility to ensure long term sustainability of the company. Inspite of continuous pressures for increased investment in manufacturing facilities the company has continued with its investment in R&D which has resulted in the company’s success with a number of products.
The companies R&D facilities are located at the manufacturing locations to have better synergy for scale up and manufacturing. The company’s R&D facilities are also recognized by Department of Scientific and Industrial Research in India.
The overall research endeavors is well supported by adequate infrastructure in quality control and instrumentation.
The company today has an R&D team of over 150 people with 10 Phds and 75 Post Graduates. The R&D activities are focused in following areas:
- Peptide Chemistry
- Chiral Chemistry
- Biotechnology
- Organic Chemistry
The R&D facilities are equipped with necessary infrastructure including analytical, semi-preparative and preparative HPLC systems, Reactors, Lyophilizers, Centrifuges, Solidphase Peptide Synthesizers, chilling units, Deepfreezers, Autoclaves, Laminar flow chambers, incubators, FTIR, Spectrophotometers, Gas Chromatographs, Polarimeters, Furnaces, Precision balances, Water purification systems, Sonicaters & vacuum pumps. For biotechnology based research the company has invested in equipment such as thermal cycler & Low temperature incubators,UV-Visible Spectrophotometer, pH meters, Bioreactors, Fermentors and sterilizers.
